Paint Program

Instituted by the DDA in 2001, the Paint Program provides assistance downtown and Rawlins businesses to repaint the exterior portions of their buildings. If a downtown business or property owner uses a color from the “Downtown Color Palette,” the Rawlins DDA/Main Street program will pay 70% of the cost of the paint. For non-downtown properties or if another color is used by a downtown property, then Rawlins DDA/Main Street will pay 40% of the paint cost. The paint must be purchased locally and receipts should be shown at the Rawlins DDA/Main Street office. Before and after pictures must be submitted. The program runs on a first-come, first-served basis.

Holiday Shopping Frenzy

As discussed in our events page, Rawlins DDA/Main Street coordinates the annual Holiday Shopping Frenzy. The program gives local business owners from the county an opportunity to entice more people into their store over the holiday season. Participating businesses purchase tickets that they distribute to their customers any way they choose. Then, on the four Saturdays preceding Christmas two drawings are held for $250 and $1000 “Santa Bucks.” The Santa Bucks can only be spent in Carbon County, thereby keeping customers in town as they shop to get tickets and to win the drawings.

Downtown Master Plan

The Master Plan will be the blueprint for progression in design and economic growth in our downtown. It will be a full scale plan including a parking study, overall business analysis, future growth potential for downtown buildings, wayfinding and streetscape renderings. This plan will help resolve issues associated with the continued growth of our district, such as parking shortages, business development, wayfinding difficulties, and housing needs. This Master Plan will guide our progress in design and economic growth for our downtown.
